Mr. Olmstead focuses on the drivers and inhibitors to
unconventional production in the most important existing and
incubating plays in North America. He has been involved in various
capacities of asset and operator analysis in North American
research for more than eight years. Recently, he has focused on the
financial constraints to production and the implications for future
supply as the industry wrestles to identify its role in global
production. Prior to joining IHS Markit, he served in the strategy
and finance department of a US independent producer. Mr. Olmstead
holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Baylor University,
United States, and an MBA from Rice University, United States.
Mr. Marinovic, Vice President, leads IHS Markit's E&P Terms
and Above-Ground Risk team, which provides clients with
information, analysis and insights on above-ground considerations
affecting the attractiveness of Upstream investments around the
world. Before that he led Upstream consulting teams responsible for
development of corporate and asset strategies, as well as
supporting governments in assessing competitiveness of their
investment terms improving their investment terms. Mr. Marinovic's
previous experience includes being a Partner in the Oil & Gas
Practice of Strategic Decisions Group (SDG) and performing both
technical and operating roles at Exxon Chemical Company. Mr.
Marinovic holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in
Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from
Stanford University.
He focuses on solving complex customer challenges by combining
IHS Markit data, research and analytical capabilities to create
high value solutions, which can be embedded in customer workflows.
He has over 30 years of experience across a broad range of oil and
gas company activities, working as an advisor to many national and
international oil and gas companies and governments on issues
ranging from national energy policy to E&P strategy
development. His high value consulting assignments for global
clients include investment and technology strategies, market
analysis, project development plans and operational improvements.
He has led reorganization and process re-engineering exercises, and
has designed and implemented corporate-level and project-level
management systems. He has worked with companies in the Middle
East, Africa, Europe, Russia, Central and East Asia and South
America. Mr. Lowes was formerly a principal with Strategic Decision
Group's oil and gas practice prior to its acquisition by IHS
Markit. Previously, he was a senior manager with the management
consulting firm Arthur D Little Ltd., and spent 15 years in
engineering and project management for major oil and gas projects
where he held positions with both operators and engineering
companies in UK, Australia, Malaysia and Oman. Mr. Lowes holds a
Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Sciences from Cambridge University
and a Master of Science in Engineering Geology from Imperial
College, London University, both UK. He completed his MBA with the
UK Open University Business School and he is a Member of the UK
Energy Institute.
Ms. Irena Agalliu is an expert in international energy law and
economics, worldwide fiscal arrangements, commercial risk and
aboveground risk investment-related issues. She has extensive
experience assessing commercial and regulatory risk and advising
governments and NOCs on regulatory and contractual developments
that impact E&P activities worldwide and assisting governments
in formulating policies.Irena's major projects include assistance to the government of
Mexico in development of industrial safety regulations for upstream
oil and gas activities; assistance to the government of Colombia in
development of offshore regulations, as well as development of
fiscal and contractual framework for shale gas, tight oil and CBM;
assistance to the legislature of North Dakota regarding fiscal
policy solutions to enable CO2 EOR projects in the Bakken;
assistance to the government of Angola on development of E&P
regulations, LNG taxation and gas market regulations; and
comparative analysis of fiscal systems for the United States
Department of the Interior.Ms Agalliu has provided independent expert review of proposed
legislation governing petroleum upstream, midstream and downstream
activities, revenue management in oil and gas, as well as local
content participation, before legislatures of several African
nations. Ms. Irena Agalliu holds an LLM with distinction in
Petroleum Law Policy and Economics from the University of Dundee,
Scotland and a doctorate of jurisprudence from the University of
Houston Law Center. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and
Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). Ms
Agalliu was elected to the Board of AIPN in 2008 and served as vice
president of external affairs for the 2009-2011 term and vice
president of planning for the 2011-2012 term. She is the co-chair
of the AIPN Oil and Gas Asset Valuation Workshop.
Dr. Bedregal has extensive technical, commercial, and business
development experience in projects for the oil and gas exploration
and production (E&P) industry. His expertise in structuring
sizable projects encompasses experience in petroleum geology,
business environment and assessing opportunities in South America,
West and Southern Africa, Oman and Australia. Prior to joining IHS
Markit, he held several managerial and technical roles at
Petrobras, Brazilian Petroleum National Agency, PGT, Vale Oil &
Gas and other companies.An experienced oil and gas geologist, Dr. Bedregal holds two
masters degrees in Geology, a Ph.D. in Quantitative Basin Analysis
from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and an MBA
from the Dom Cabral Foundation.
