EDM: Investment Data

Capture and manage accurate and timely investment data

Enterprise Data Management (EDM) from IHS Markit is a central data management platform for capturing accurate and timely investment data. Side-by-side comparisons and flexible rule capabilities ensure investment data is rigorously validated.

Key benefits

Performance and analytics
EDM can be integrated with performance and attribution tools to ensure the accuracy, consistency and timeliness of the data used. It can also consume the outputs of such tools and distribute them to downstream systems for further analysis and historical reporting. The types of data supported include risk analytics, security analytics and associated reference data points (e.g. account, security, position and benchmark information). Siloed performance measurement data is easily aggregated.

Risk
Accurate risk management requires consistent, aggregated, good-quality data. EDM sources, validates and normalizes data from multiple systems including trade, operational, risk, finance and customer data. Customers have the ability to create multiple, different masters to support the needs of downstream consumers and systems.

Benchmarks and indices
EDM enables customers to consume, validate and distribute benchmark and indices data. Customers can run validations on incoming data from each index provider to check for missing constituents, changes and other discrepancies and also to ensure that weightings add up correctly before data is distributed downstream.

Trade
EDM consumes, validates and enriches trades to ensure data is both intact and accurate. Data is easily aggregated inside and outside the organization and an accurate investment book or record (IBOR) can be produced.
