Nick Waters joined IHS Markit in April 2020 as a Senior Technical Research Analyst working within the Vantage Research and Content team with a focus on West Africa. He is based in Geneva, Switzerland, where he works alongside IHS Markit's wider Africa intelligence team. Nick's responsibilities include driving decisions on likely development scenarios, asset-level production and valuation, development and production costs, as well as economic analysis for the Vantage analytical platform. He also collaborates with IHS Markit's wider Upstream teams in scrutinising data that contributes to the overall content of the Vantage online interface.
Before joining IHS Markit, Nick has worked for international E&P service companies with a focus on sedimentary logging and seismic processing, as a Geoscientist for a Sub-Shahan Africa focused operator and most recently as a commodity analyst specialising in sulphur. He holds a MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Royal Holloway, University of London and a BSc in Geology from the University of Bristol.
