Joining Caterpillar in 2004 as an ACERT Engine performance development engineer, he has since served in several level positions involved on key global and local programs like articulated dump truck powertrain validation, Jeep India localization, Jaguar XE vehicle fuel economy certification, Ingenium 4cylinder engine performance/emission development and Changan S401 vehicle certification support. He also served as a technology leader to manage cross-functional initiatives on vehicle portfolio optimization, cost-benefit technology selection and product planning to set fuel economy and energy management targets to meet regulation targets. Vijay is also well known within the auto industry for his contribution to news articles, press, conferences, panels and speaking engagements around regulation and powertrain related topics.
