Associate Director, Jane’s Intelligence Unit, Jane’s by IHS Markit
Terry Pattar is associate director leading the Jane’s Intelligence Unit, which provides threat assessments, horizon scanning, capability analysis, and open source intelligence (OSINT) advice to national security and government clients.
Mr. Pattar is responsible for managing the design and delivery of Jane’s OSINT and intelligence analysis training courses and programs. He has 17 years of experience in various investigative and consulting roles, including ten years delivering Jane's bespoke analytical products and training services to national security and government clients, and a year working on due diligence investigations as a consultant in the Gulf region. Mr. Pattar specializes in analysing emerging threats to regional stability and global security and assisting military and security force capability development. He has a thematic specialization in counter-terrorism and specific regional expertise in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. While at the University of Exeter, he read Arabic language and literature, and the politics and history of the Middle East and North Africa. Terry Pattar holds an Master of Arts in Near and Middle East Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, United Kingdom.
