Senior Energy Technical Advisor, IHS MarkitMr. Ralph McNeil is a senior technical advisor within the Energy team at IHS Markit.
His main responsibilities include technical engineering mentorship and software support for our petroleum engineering operations team. An experienced petroleum engineer, Mr. McNeil has been involved in petroleum operations and consulting for more than 35 years. His primary areas of expertise include reservoir engineering projects, oil & gas property evaluations, deliverability modeling in nodal networks (gas gathering & transmission systems), and software development. In past roles, he also led the engineering development of the IHS Markit Piper, FAST MBA and IHS Markit Harmony software applications. Mr. McNeil has published six technical papers on topics ranging from gathering system analysis to reserves determination and production forecasting. He has also produced two technical videos: "Gas Gathering System Modeling" and "Gas Reserves Determination". He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geosciences of Alberta (APEGA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Mr. McNeil holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
