Director, Power, Gas, Coal, and Renewables, IHS MarkitDeborah Mann, a director at IHS Markit, is an expert in low-carbon energy strategy in Europe.
Ms. Mann specializes in evaluating the impact of new technologies on the decarbonization of European energy sectors. She was the project research lead on the IHS Markit studies, "Hydrogen: The missing piece of the zero-carbon puzzle" and "Beyond the Flame: The transformation of Europe's heat sector," and has authored numerous reports on related subjects including energy storage, power to gas, and carbon capture and utilization. Ms. Mann joined IHS Markit in 2007, leading a team producing European power market fundamentals analysis and modeling, as well as long-term European energy outlooks. Her previous experience includes 15 years in oil refining, and gas conversion with BP, where she carried out various techno-economic appraisals and strategic studies, and with M W Kellogg, where she set up a refinery planning group. A chartered chemical engineer, Ms. Mann is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and of the Energy Institute. Educated in the United Kingdom, Ms. Mann holds MA and MEng degrees from the University of Cambridge and an MSc from Kingston University.
