He is also responsible for sovereign risk analysis and the day-to-day economic coverage of these economies. He has been in the socioeconomic field for eight years, previously serving as a research economist at Underhill Corporate Solution in South Africa, where he worked on sector-skills planning, monitoring and evaluation, and data collection and analysis projects for both public and private organizations. Macheka earned a MSc in economics and a BSc honors in economics from the University of Zimbabwe. His native language is Shona and he speaks English proficiently.
