George Laguros
GEPS Editor, IHS Markit
George Laguros is the GEPS editor at IHS Markit and is responsible
for reporting on the upstream activity in the deepwater Gulf of
Mexico and Alaska.
George Laguros joined IHS Markit in 2019 and is the GEPS editor
responsible for reporting on upstream activity in the deepwater
Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. He was previously with Marathon Oil
Company for 31 years, where he worked as a geophysicist on a
variety of exploration and production projects in East Africa, the
UK North Sea, Western Siberia, the US Mid-Continent and the US Gulf
of Mexico. George is a member of the Society of Exploration
Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
He received a Bachelor of Science in geophysics from the University
of Oklahoma, United States, and a Master of Arts in geological
sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, United States.
