James Kelly is an economist in the US Regional Economic Service at IHS Markit.
His responsibilities include preparing forecasts and written economic analysis for several states in the Midwest and South, including Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi, as well as their respective metropolitan areas. A native of northwest Arkansas, he continues to track developments and monitor trends in the region's economy. Before joining IHS Markit, he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Missouri, US, and a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, US, where he focused on labor and development economics.
