Enrique Jaramillo

Mr. Jaramillo advises governments and international energy companies on the development, interpretation and application of policies, legislation, and contracts applicable to the petroleum industry. Enrique has experience assessing commercial and regulatory risk and advising clients on regulatory and contractual developments that impact E&P activities worldwide and assisting governments in formulating policies and legislation.

Enrique's major projects include assistance to the government of an East African nation to develop environmental regulation, guidelines and inspection manuals applicable to E&P activities; advising a Middle East nation negotiating a unitization agreement with a neighboring country; advising a South American nation on international contracts for offshore E&P activities; advising a client on fiscal terms applicable to E&P activities in North America; providing a South American nation with a comparative analysis of the legal, regulatory, contractual and environmental terms that govern offshore and onshore E&P activities in the country and around the world; providing a South American nation with a comparative analysis of the legal and regulatory frameworks related to development of oil and gas from shale plays; and, assisting a Caribbean nation to develop terms applicable to an offshore licensing round.

Mr. Jaramillo holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree from the University of Houston Law Center, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Hamburg, an LLM from the University of Bologna, and a Bachelor of Laws degree (JD equivalent) from the Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil. Mr. Jaramillo is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Ecuador Bar Association, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
