Mr. Dalibor Gogic is a principal analyst for the Maritime &
Trade Research and Analytics team at IHS Markit.
Based in London, UK, he brings more than a decade of experience in shipping business analysis and research, including trade and shipping, freight forwarding, port agency and import/export information. He provides insight into tanker market developments and variables that influence this trade, as well as other major commodity markets. Mr. Gogic has a deep knowledge of the oil chartering market and the cost and economics of transport and trade. He predominantly deals with commercial aspect of energy commodity markets. Mr. Gogic has helped develop the fleet capacity forecast for which he serves as the lead analyst. He provides guidance on vessel classes, demand drivers, trade flows and their interaction for different shipping fleet segments. He also contributes to other projects involving freight rates, trade flows and market dynamics. Previously, Mr. Gogic served a shipping analyst for the Worldscale Association in London, where he worked extensively on calculating spot market rates and analyzing port cost discrepancies and transit cost/time variances. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gogic worked in other aspects of shipping, such as port agency, and import and export and he gained operational knowledge of the commercial aspects of the tanker and container markets. He holds Bachelor of Science in Maritime Studies from Kotor University, Montenegro, and a Master of Science in Ship and Shipping Management from Southampton Solent University, UK. Mr. Gogic is a member of ICS (The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers).
