Senior Research Analyst – Country Risk, IHS Markit
Ms. Alison Evans is head of Open-Source Analytics and a senior Asia-Pacific analyst on the Country Risk team at IHS Markit.
Ms. Evans manages the Country Risk team responsible for collection and analysis of open-source intelligence. Since 2014, she has been responsible for analysis of the political, operational and security risks in Japan and the two Koreas, regularly providing briefings and writing on country risk capabilities and Asia-Pacific analysis. Previously, she worked at the European Commission, in the public sector in Japan, and at Japanese and Korean multinational corporations in Belgium and South Korea. Ms. Evans holds a Master of Arts in international relations and economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C., and a First Class Honors Degree in Japanese and Korean studies with a distinction in spoken Japanese from the University of Oxford, UK. She is fluent in Japanese and German and is advanced in Korean.
