Alexander Cobley is a senior technical researcher in the Middle East EDIN team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Alexander is a senior technical researcher in the Middle East EDIN team, with an emphasis on providing upstream research and E&P content coverage for oil and gas fields, play fairways and play types, basin stratigraphy, and in depth studies for conventional/unconventional reservoirs across the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean region. Prior to this role, Mr. Cobley interned at Chevron as part of North African new ventures group, joining S&P Global shortly after as a research analyst for the S&P Global Vantage product before becoming a regional lead for supply and forward-looking cost analysis aimed at oil and gas projects in Frontier North America and Latin America.

Alexander has worked in the upstream industry for 7 years joining S&P Global in 2014, and has both a BSc in Geology and a MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Manchester.
