Associate Director, Americas Consulting, IHS MarkitOlivier Beaufils works primarily on cross sectors and energy transition issues throughout the energy value chains.
Mr. Beaufils is an Associate Director in the Energy Strategy practice for IHS Markit. He focuses on Cross-Sector and Energy Transition issues. He has expertise on power and renewables markets in the Americas, natural gas and LNG markets, as well as emerging clean energy technologies such as batteries and hydrogen. He has extensive experience managing and delivering consulting projects across North and Latin America. He has worked for large utilities, government agencies, oil and gas majors, and private-equity funds on strategy engagements, transactions, public policy, and market analysis studies. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Beaufils was a Managing Consultant with Wood Mackenzie Consulting practice. He also worked for Areva (now Orano), a leading nuclear energy company, in Corporate Strategy. Mr. Beaufils graduated with a Masters in Global Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. He also holds M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Superieure d'Electricite (CentraleSupelec) and in Energy Economics from the Institut Francais du Petrole (IFP School), both in Paris, France. He speaks fluent English, French, and Spanish.
