Senior Principal Economist
Raj Badiani is a senior principal economist for IHS Markit and is based in London.
He has spent more than 15 years preparing economic forecasts alongside providing regular sovereign risk analysis for Italy, Spain, Norway, and Sweden. He produces regular briefing notes and country reports and is widely quoted on Spanish and Italian economic and sovereign risk matters in the written press. He oversees the production and delivery of the Western European macroeconomic monthly and quarterly forecasts. In addition, Raj is helping transition our Western Europe’s forecasting tools from existing stand-alone econometric models to the new Global Linked Model (GLM). He has undertaken various consultancy projects, which include econometric modeling, forecasting, data collection, and analysis. Badiani received his master’s degree in economics from Birkbeck College, the University of London, where he specialized in international economics and macroeconomics. He gained his first degree in economics from Brunel University.
