Ian Archer

Mr. Archer specifically analyzes Canadian supply and demand fundamentals, transportation infrastructure, gas storage, Canadian LNG, and the outlook for Canadian gas prices. He contributes to IHS Markit market outlooks across the time horizon from weekly to 30 plus years. He is also involved in scenario analyses, and consulting projects for mid-stream natural gas assets, petrochemicals and LNG. He has 20 years of experience in market fundamentals, quantitative research, gas market modeling, corporate strategy, macroeconomics, and global LNG markets and is a frequent speaker at conferences and with the media. Prior to joining IHS Markit, he held various positions with TransCanada, TransAlta, and the National Energy Board. Mr. Archer holds a BA (Honors) from Queen's University at Kingston and an MA (Economics) from the University of Victoria.
