Ding Li Ang, director, manages the Upstream Costs and Technology team in Asia Pacific. In the research space, Mr. Ang leads the IHS Markit engineering and fabrication research team. This includes the engineering; topsides; jackets; floating production, storage, and offloading/floating storage and offloading; floaters (semisubmersibles, tension leg platforms, and spars); and floating LNG market segments as well as the various yards and fabrication market indexes. Mr. Ang has supported oil and gas companies in assessing yard capability worldwide for offshore platform and onshore module fabrication projects. He also has contributed to several operators' risk identification and evaluation exercises for major offshore engineering, procurement, and construction projects as well as assisted them in understanding local content requirements and fulfillment strategies. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Ang was a strategy manager, specializing in petroleum economics. Earlier in his career, he served as an investment analyst at a corporate finance firm, evaluating the economics of natural resource development projects. Mr. Ang is based in Singapore. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance, a master's degree in economics, and a diploma in marine engineering. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
