Meda Al Rowas
Director Country Risk – Global Intelligence, Analysis & Audit, IHS MarkitDr. Meda Al Rowas is part of the global team overseeing IHS Markit’s Country Risk service and research output, and she previously headed the Middle East and North Africa Country Risk Desk.
Dr. Al Rowas supports the development and improvement of the risk service’s methodology, its implementation, quality assurance and the harmonization of global analytic output. This includes revamping Country Risk's analysis and scoring methodology, improving and harmonising Jane's Terrorism and Insurgency Centre's products, as well as editing and quality assuring client-facing output from both research groups related to political violence, government policy and state stability. She is also engaged in evolving the information architecture supporting the country risk service’s delivery of open-source intelligence and data-driven analysis, mainly mapping cross-business line intelligence requirements to match end-user needs (analysts/clients) with current resources and process, with a view to identifying the best candidates for automation and optimizing research workflows. Ms. Al Rowas holds a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield Management School, United Kingdom where she focused on investigating the measurement of regional competitiveness and associated economic development implications for resource rich countries.
