Dr. Theophilus (Theo) Acheampong is a senior analyst on the Sub-Saharan Africa Country Risk team at IHS Markit.
His research covers political and business risk forecasts and analysis for countries and industry sectors, including war, terrorism and political unrest, as well as the impact of tax, legal and operational risks for business. He has also worked on a number of client projects in the global energy industry, particularly in upstream oil and gas. Prior to joining IHS Markit, he worked as an independent consultant providing macroeconomic analysis and market research focused on frontier emerging markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Archeampong has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He earned a Master of Science in Petroleum, Energy Economics and Finance and a Ph.D. in Economics and from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
