Oil & Gas Technology & Innovation Workshop
IHS Markit is pleased to announce the upcoming Oil & Gas Technology & Innovation Workshop to be held on Thursday, 20 February 2020, in Singapore.
Oil company technology programs have been strongly shaped over the past few years by a drive to lower costs and raise efficiencies. With a modest yet bumpy recovery now underway, a broader set of industry trends seem to be taking hold that are expanding the “ask” on technology to support (and in some cases to drive) evolving corporate objectives.
To meet these expanded expectations in an investment-constrained environment, oil companies are turning to non-traditional approaches. They are focusing on digital transformation that can cost-effectively deliver benefits in the near term. They are pursuing more open innovation strategies (e.g., industry partnerships, corporate venture capital) that can more efficiently tap technology developments taking place outside company (and even industry) boundaries. Despite the promise of these new approaches, they present their own set of challenges related to company uptake and value realization.
During this one-day workshop*, IHS Markit will explore a set of recent research themes from its Upstream Technology and Innovation (UTAI) practice, facilitate discussion amongst attendees, and identify a set of broadly applicable best practices and issues to avoid related to these opportunities.
*This is an invite only workshop
