International Energy Executive Forum 2018
IHS Markit and CNPC ETRI are jointly presenting the International Energy Executive Forum 2018 in Beijing, China on December 13, 2017.
The energy industry is at crossroads. From upstream oil and gas to refining and petrochemicals, and from gas and power utilities to coal miners, the winds of change are felt. Multiple imbalances exist at this critical juncture. Oil markets are still struggling to balance oversupply, demand, and ever changing costs. Global liquefied natural gas is entering a period of oversupply that the industry has never seen before. New technologies such as renewables, electric vehicles and “Internet of Things” are posing long-term threats to the fossil fuel industry and asserting themselves in energy markets. Meanwhile, geopolitical developments are increasingly uncertain in key oil and gas producing countries. Where is the industry headed among all the imbalances? How should companies and governments adjust their energy strategies to cope with the new realities?
To help energy industry participants identify critical trends in global energy and to assess the impact that these trends may have on companies and governments, CNPC ETRI and IHS Markit are jointly hosting the International Energy Executive Forum in Beijing.
Now in its fifth year, this year’s Forum will be held on 13 December 2017, with the theme “Energy at Crossroads: Seeking New Balance”. In this year’s expanded focus from ‘Oil and Gas’ to ‘Energy’, we look to address the many fuels and technologies – both old and new – outside the oil and gas business that will likely become increasingly important for industry participants.
