6th Annual Asia Chemical Conference (incorporating the Acrylonitrile, Derivatives & Fibres Conference)

Prime Time for Asia Chemicals: Managing Risks and Opportunities

The global chemical industry is in an extended upcycle with robust demand, tight supply and strong margins on a global basis.  Times are good, and reinvestment levels are high. Key base chemical value chains are one major supply interruption away from entering a “supercycle” that would be characterized by rapidly rising prices and even higher levels of profitability.

However, risks factors are rising rapidly with potential drags on the economy, disruptions to trade flows, and reinvestment levels that threaten significant oversupply in the early 2020s. The emergence of several megatrends today will reshape the refining and chemicals industry going forward: forecast of slowing growth in crude oil demand; potential slowdown in commodity plastics demand growth resulting from increased recycling and/or government bans on plastics end-uses; the continued rise and solidification of China as a global force in chemicals; and looking further beyond, the emergence of competing technologies, crude-to-chemicals versus gas-to-chemicals, that will redefine supply-chains for base chemical markets.

The surge in integrated refinery/petrochemical investments will result in massive petrochemical plants on an unprecedented scale, heralding capacity that can overwhelm the market. Meanwhile, the increased global focus on sustainability and recycling at the grassroots consumer and local government level, has the potential to slow down the future growth of plastics and chemicals demand compared to historical trends.

How will the chemical industry shape up in the midst of these evolving megatrends?

The 6th Annual Asia Chemical Conference will address these key questions, and provide insight, outlook and analysis to facilitate decision-making for your business. The 6th Asia Chemical Conference incorporates the Acrylonitrile, Derivatives & Fibres Conference, the only global event dedicated to participants of the acrylonitrile and related industries.

More than 200 delegates from 115 companies in 17 countries gathered in Singapore to get information and updates from industry and IHS Markit experts, as well as network and forge relationships with industry colleagues.

Join us this year on Nov 1-2 for a unique networking opportunity over a day and a half of solid content with three parallel breakout sessions.

One price, three parallel sessions for greater focus and greater value:
