Seoul Energy Briefing 2019
Join us at IHS Markit's Seoul Energy Briefing 2019 on 31st May, at Westin Chosun, Seoul.
As more and more countries embrace energy transition, questions have arisen regarding the role of different energy sources. Renewables are growing rapidly in power markets around the world as governments introduce and intensify policy support and costs continue to decline for new energy technologies. With rising investment in clean energy, the question of the future for conventional thermal generation looms large; this is especially true for emerging markets in Asia.
This in turn lends uncertainty to fuel demand into the power sector, in particular for natural gas. Once considered the "transition fuel", natural gas could face a shorter transition timeframe than many had expected given rising climate policy pressure. However, Asian LNG demand continues to grow rapidly, creating space for new suppliers like the United States. Indeed, many signs point to a surge in global LNG supply in the next few years as many projects announce final investment decisions.
During this Energy Briefing, IHS Markit energy experts will lead an interactive discussion and share our latest research on these topics above.
