Hartmut Siebert, Technical Marketing Manager/Packaging, Clariant Plastics & Coatings AG

Often the draw-back of high performance stabilizers is a lack of stability due to its high reactivity. AddWorks LXR 568 combines high efficiency with good stability. It provides excellent colour protection and superior melt flow stability. It is highly compatible with a broad range of thermoplastic polymers and gives substantial resin improvements in numerous applications, such as films or moulded articles, automotive compounds and pressure pipes. It increases dyne level retention of metallized PP films and reduces gels in PE films. AddWorks LXR 568 contributes significantly to the heat stability of PP automotive compounds. With AddWorks LXR 568 the lifetime of a polymer is increased, re-use is improved and recycling is enhanced. AddWorks LXR 568 is resistant to hydrolysis, thermally stable and produced in free-flowing micro-pills. This dust-free solution is easy to handle. AddWorks LXR 568 shows a deferred formation of non-intentionally added substance (NIAS).

Tarja Korvenoja, Senior Licensing and Innovation Manager, Borealis&

Borealis has several technology platforms on Polyolefin production, catalyst and application engineering. Borstar technology already from the very beginning has the ability to produce high quality PO s – with the ability to downgauge the material amounts used. Borstar PE technology has currently been upgraded to so called 3rd generation mode with enlarged process and product window. In product development design for recyclability, monomaterial potential and using of increased amounts of recycled material are some of the cornerstones of Borealis sustainable technologies. With our technologies and our partners we strive to make CES and integrated part of the PO value chain.

    • 2:10 PMGame Changers in LLDPE Comonomers

Andrea Borruso, External Consultant, IHS Markit

New factors and game changers are on the horizon of LAO users in the LLDPE industry: hexene supply is now independent from broad-range LAO plants, octene-based polymer and third-party licensing with few exceptions have disappeared while the increasing weight of metallocene-based polymers is increasing the use of hexene and octene.
The traditional regional growth of the three comonomers is hence drifting away from traditional thinking related to end-use applications and ijcresingly influenced by new factors including technology licensing and LAO distribution constraints.

Gianluca Valente, Procurement Director EMEA Raw Materials, Greif Inc..
    • 4:15 PMClosing the Loop in Flexible Packaging

Martin Berlekamp, Head of Sustainability, Schur Flexibles GmbH

The presentation concentrates on one of the well-known sustainability pillars: Environment. Lot’s of emotional pictures of marine littering had been broadcasted in the recent months. People are highly sensible especially if it comes to plastics packaging materials.
On the other hand, the EU published their Plastics Strategy – a mix of 38 of regulatory, economic and voluntary measures to foster behavior changes.

Beside that, retailers and brand owners published their own packaging guides.

During the presentation, plastics packaging solutions will be introduced to the audience which fulfill the regulatory and environmental needs of today and the future, as they are recyclable and allowing a further contribution to the recycling targets of the industry towards a circular economy.
