Form Description
Measuring dairy supply chain emissions to manage carbon intensity
The dairy supply chain is highly complex. While it is possible to measure a single supply chain from one store to one producer, the permutations of different suppliers, different production systems and multiple locations suggest that good decision making around carbon reduction, requires a reliable method of capturing all possibilities.
Dairy retailers will need to understand multiple pathways within
their supply chains if they are to successfully lower the carbon
intensity (CI) of their products. IHS Markit has developed a dairy
carbon calculator whereby multiple supply, destination and
technology platforms can be assessed, and "what if" scenarios can
be evaluated to make effective, sustainable decisions around dairy
procurement.

using CI measurement.
