Experts

Walt Hart, P.E.

Dr. Hart is the preeminent subject-matter expert for global NGLs. He leads the three annual international NGL conferences in the United States, Asia, and Latin America, and he is the senior expert for the NGL subscription services. He has also designed and taught workshops and training courses. His proprietary studies have involved business analysis and strategy, market studies, forecasting, valuations, and legal support. He works primarily in the area of NGLs but also has significant experience in petrochemical feedstocks and alternative fuels. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Dr. Hart spent 14 years at The Dow Chemical Company/Union Carbide as well as two years at Owens Corning Fiberglas. He held positions in process engineering, technical sales, research and development, finance, and strategic planning. He has also taught at the undergraduate level. Dr. Hart is a registered professional engineer and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He represents IHS Markit on the World LPG Association (WLPGA) Industry Council and serves as an ambassador for the WLPGA Women in LPG Global Network. Dr. Hart holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Charleston, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from West Virginia University, United States.

Scott Gray

Scott Gray is Senior Director of Energy, and is based in the company’s downtown, Houston office. An expert on the LPG industry, Gray recently joined IHS Markit after serving as a partner in Waterborne Energy, which was acquired by IHS Markit in 2013. For the past 23 years, he has focused on the overwater LPG trade and, as the Primary Researcher and Editor of the IHS Markit Waterborne LPG Report, he has a wide-ranging and long-term view of the international LPG marketplace.Prior to joining Waterborne Energy in May of 1992, Scott spent six years in the petrochemical industry as Editor and then Managing Director of the Houston office for ICIS-LOR, a publisher of petrochemical and energy information. Gray attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.

Adrian Calcaneo

He has 13 years of consulting experience and has worked in Mexico, the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Calcaneo was a manager for consulting delivery with EAG Services, Inc., where he advised clients and provided consulting services for multinational energy companies. Previously, he conducted quantitative and qualitative research on international trade, energy policy, and global economics to support the design of policy solutions for the Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics, and Public Policy. He has worked as a consultant for the Organization for American States, evaluating and making recommendations on the implementation of public policy in the Western Hemisphere. He also has eight years of experience leading a global team on software implementation projects at the Reynolds and Reynolds Company. Mr. Calcaneo holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University, a Certificate in Advanced International Affairs and an MPA from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, and a Certificate in Data Science from Harvard University. He is a Project Management Professional certified project manager and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Yanyu He, Ph.D

Mr. He oversees the overall NGL market services for the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. He heads the analyst team that produce regular monthly/quarterly/annual research publications, develop market insight papers, and execute NGL related consulting engagements in these regions. Mr. He also leads the global NGL pricing analysis, producing critical short-term and long-term price forecast for all global NGL price benchmarks.With 20 years of broad experience in the energy industry, he is a regular speaker at industry conferences, author of dozens of energy perspectives and is frequently cited by major media publications. Mr. He holds a Doctorate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, USA, and an undergraduate degree from Tsinghua University in China.

Keefer Douglas

Mr. Douglas leads NGL markets coverage for Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Africa as well as the development of NGL supply, demand, and pricing studies for Europe/CIS/Africa and Asia. He has also contributed to several consulting projects and the IHS Markit long-term NGL supply and demand study. Mr. Douglas joined IHS Markit in 2013 through the acquisition of PFC Energy, where he was a member of the Global Gas group. At PFC he managed the Gas Competition Service, which focused on company performance and strategy in global gas. As an analyst his research focused primarily on natural gas markets across North Asia and Southeast Asia and on competitive strategy, with a particular emphasis on the Chinese national oil companies. Mr. Douglas also forecasted natural gas and NGL supply and demand. Previously Mr. Douglas spent four years in Beijing with Sinosphere Corp., a consulting firm specialized in advising multinational clients in the energy and electronics manufacturing sectors, among others. At Sinosphere Corp. he was involved in a project that helped clients navigate Chinese policy and regulations related to health, safety, and environment and labor standards as well as implement best practices in these areas in their Chinese operations. Mr. Douglas holds a BA from Brown University and an MALD from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Darryl Rogers

Mr. Rogers is responsible and accountable for IHS Markit flagship NGL Markets subscription product, Waterborne LIVE LPG subscription product, and the US NGL Markets Weekly subscription product.Along with leading these subscription based offerings, he serves as a focal point for consulting projects, integrating the unmatched IHS Markit technical/market expertise and resources from our upstream, natural gas, NGL, downstream, and chemicals teams to provide client-focused solutions.Mr. Rogers has 17+ years of industry experience and expertise in natural gas, LNG, power and cogeneration, ethylene manufacturing, petroleum coke, hydrogen and other industrial gases. Mr. Rogers has 10+ years of consulting and research and analysis experience with IHS Markit including his employment at Purvin & Gertz. Before joining IHS Markit through the acquisition of Purvin & Gertz, he was at The Dow Chemical Company.Mr. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University, a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Louisiana State University, United States.

Veeral Mehta

Mr. Mehta is an executive director on the Midstream Oil and Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) group at IHS Markit. He is responsible for US NGL research, focusing on NGL market fundamentals, pricing, trade, and infrastructure. Mr. Mehta joined IHS Markit in July 2014 and since then has also been providing consulting services to clients with their investment decisions related to oil, natural gas, NGL assets, and market outlooks. Prior to joining IHS Markit, he was an optimization manager at eSimulation, Inc. where he supported several major midstream clients with their single gas plant optimization and provided strategic solutions pertaining to contract negotiations, asset drop downs, and profitability improvements for their multi-gas plant systems. Mr. Mehta holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Mumbai, India and a Master of Science in chemical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, United States.

Bill Rawlusyk

His responsibilities encompass analysis of NGL mix acquisitions, field extraction, fractionation, straddle plant processing and extraction, logistics, and LPG sales and marketing. He also publishes the Canadian section of the North American NGL outlooks and the Global NGL Fundamentals along with numerous consulting engagements. With over 25 years of experience in commercial management and analysis roles with BP Canada Energy Company and Devon Canada, Mr. Rawlusyk has broad and deep expertise on the Canadian oil and gas industry across natural gas, natural gas liquids, sulfur and crude contracting, asset trading, fundamentals analysis, logistics and litigation support.
