Rina Quijada, Ph.D.

Dr. Quijada is vice president for Latin American business development and research and analysis on the Oil Markets, Midstream, Downstream, and Chemical team at IHS Markit. She has devoted her career to the petrochemical industry for more than 30 years, specializing in Latin American markets. Prior to her current role, she was founder and CEO of IntelliChem, Inc. (now part of IHS Markit), focusing on market intelligence and research and training related to the petrochemical industry, specifically in Latin America. Previously, Dr. Quijada was a partner at CMAI (now IHS Markit), where she developed marketing strategies and client development efforts throughout Latin America and created the global chlor-alkali consulting business. Dr. Quijada began her career at PDVSA subsidiary Pequiven, where she held managerial positions at the production, commercial, and corporate planning level. Dr. Quijada earned a Bachelor of Science in organic chemistry from Bryan College, Tennessee, United States. She holds a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona, United States, and attended the Oxford University master's management program. Dr. Quijada holds an economics doctorate from Universidad Santa Maria, Venezuela.

Bob Fryklund

Mr. Fryklund is a recognized industry thought leader on all aspects of the Upstream. He advises Boards, CEO's and management teams on strategic direction. He has been involved in many of the industries pivotal projects- TOR acquisition by Petrobras, a$10 billion arbitration; Oil export approval in the US; and restructuring of several of the industries major operators. He focusses on helping companies understand future trends and how to position themselves in the market. He also provides advice on how to build a better narative for shareholders.He has 40 yrs in the industry and has been an senior executive at ConocoPhillips as well as at IHS Markit. He sits on four industry Boards and is chair of the supply and demand committee at the Independent Petroluem Association of America(IPAA).He is a frequent industry executive speaker as well as media source for the major outlets. He holds a AB in Geology from Hamilton College and lives in Houston.

Carlos Pascual

​As the energy envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs for the United States, Mr. Pascual established and directed the new Energy Resources Bureau at the U.S. Department of State and was senior advisor to the Secretary of State on energy issues. He had previously been a United States Ambassador to both Mexico and Ukraine and was special assistant to the President for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia on the National Security Council. At the Brookings Institution, Mr. Pascual served as both vice president and director of foreign policy studies and launched the Brookings Energy Security Initiative. He taught and wrote on energy geopolitics at Columbia University. Mr. Pascual created the position of coordinator for reconstruction and stabilization, establishing the State Department's first civilian response capacity to conflicts. He also was the State Department's coordinator for American assistance to Europe and Eurasia. From 1995 through 2000, he served as special assistant to the President and successively as director and then senior director for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia at the National Security Council. He has also held leadership roles at the U.S. Agency for International Development, including as deputy assistant administrator for Europe and Eurasia, chief of policy and strategy for Africa and in field postings in Mozambique, South Africa and Sudan. Mr. Pascual received his Masters of Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, both United States. His book, Power and Responsibility, won a 2009 award for the best political science book published by an independent publisher.

Ricardo Bedregal, Ph.D.

Dr. Bedregal has extensive technical, commercial, and business development experience in projects for the oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) industry. His expertise in structuring sizable projects encompasses experience in petroleum geology, business environment and assessing opportunities in South America, West and Southern Africa, Oman and Australia. Prior to joining IHS Markit, he held several managerial and technical roles at Petrobras, Brazilian Petroleum National Agency, PGT, Vale Oil & Gas and other companies.An experienced oil and gas geologist, Dr. Bedregal holds two masters degrees in Geology, a Ph.D. in Quantitative Basin Analysis from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and an MBA from the Dom Cabral Foundation.

Ha Nguyen

With almost 14 years of international experience in crude oil markets, she provides forecasts and regular contributions to IHS Markit subscription-based energy publications. Before joining IHS Markit, Ms. Nguyen worked as a consultant and researcher for Purvin & Gertz. She has worked on several refining market studies, merger and acquisition support, replacement cost projects, crude oil valuations, due diligence support and LP modeling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Houston, United States.
